Program: Provide school-based dental health education and preventive dental hygiene services to underserved children within the School District of Superior. Dental health clinics are designed to be positive experiences which alleviate a child's fear of dentistry.
Preventive services include sealants, gentle cleanings, fluoride varnish, and oral health education. Children receive prize incentives and oral care products. On-site school clinics remove access to care barriers for parents facing long distances to available dental appointments, difficulties arranging transportation, as well as unpaid time away from work.
Service Area: Superior Middle School and all six elementaries within the School District of Superior
Group Served: Children K-8th grade who are enrolled on Wisconsin Medicaid or underinsured
Charge for services: Clinics are provided at no charge to either families or the School District of Superior.
Hours Agency is open: Dental health clinics are scheduled during regular school hours.
