The United Way 2012 Campaign is in full swing! In August we held our Second Annual Go-2-Bat-4 United Way Campaign Kick-off Softball Tournament with six teams. Our first ever direct mail campaign was mailed out at the end of September and most of our workplace campaign packets were delivered during the month. Several workplace Campaigns will be held in October but hopefully everyone will be able to wrap up their campaigns before Thanksgiving.
This year we are very fortunate to have three community leaders sign on to our Campaign letter. We want to give a special thank you to Janna Stevens, Michael Lucci, and Chuck LaGesse, for their heartfelt quotes addressing each of our three Community Impact Initiatives. We continue to work toward improving the Early Childhood Literacy/Kindergarten Readiness rates; supporting programs that provide positive alternatives for at-risk youth; and, encouraging programs that reduce the recidivism rate of the homeless families and individuals. Our focus remains the same – to get at the root of the problems we see in the community; to make lasting, positive changes; and to involve the community in solutions.
