Kathi Madsen receiving BNSF corporate campaign donation from Pete Hamell, Superintendent of Operations, BNSF Railway Superior Wisconsin

Work place campaigns were kicked off earlier than ever before with WalMart taking the lead as their corporate office asked them to wrap things up for 2010 by June of 2009. Other companies fell into place and we are just past our mid-point.

The Campaign Cabinet, headed by Campaign Co-Chairs – Ann Charbonneau with WITC and Deb Williams with the Duluth News Tribune, agreed NOT to set a monetary goal, but rather a goal to help more individuals and families than last year.

Employers who would like to have assistance with a work place campaign can contact us at 394-2733. We can brainstorm and suggest ideas that have worked at other businesses – incentive drawings for first time givers or those who increase their giving each year; we are happy to assist in running fund raisers at your place of employment - pancake breakfasts, ice cream social, duct tape man; we can schedule agency representatives to speak with employees about their agency and what they provide with their United Way funds.

Individuals who would like to pledge and/or donate to United Way can find the
2010 pledge form and agency card information on our website. No gift is too small; every amount, when added to the larger amount, will help.
