FamilyWize Prescription Drug Discount Program

Health

Several programs that we fund improve the 'health and wellness' of the consumers they serve. For some it means getting a dental appointment after 12 months on a waiting list; scheduling an appointment with a doctor or nurse practitioner to get treatment for an injury or illness; it might be a first dental cleaning and it takes place in school; or an opportunity to talk with a mental health provider about issues you are having trouble overcoming.

United Way provides prescription discount cards through the familywize prescription program. Cards are available throughout many agencies and schools for individuals and families who are under or un-insured. Most of the pharmacies in Superior honor the cards, allowing people to receive up to a 30% or higher discount on their medications. Losing one's employment is devastating enough without having to worry about going without necessary prescribed medication.

United Way is represented on the Douglas County Community Health Improvement Project (CHIP) on both the Community Steering Committee and the Mental Health sub-committee. Health plays an important role in our community and provides the final connection in making lasting changes – education, income & health.

Reach out a hand to one, influence the condition of all.
