About Your United Way
Mission Statement
To build a stronger and healthier community and empower individuals to improve their lives.
The United Way of Superior-Douglas County employs 1 full time staff and 1 part time staff and utilizes over 160 volunteers to successfully implement the programs, activities and committees we sponsor each year.
Eighteen community leaders sit on the Board of Directors and numerous volunteers from the community participate on committees, panels, workplace campaigns, and events like Day of Caring and Stuff the Bus. We have a dedicated core of volunteer auditors who oversee the accuracy of the workplace campaign results and enter data into the Donation Tracker software we use. Volunteers play an important role in the Dolly Parton Imagination Library from promotion to enrolling children in the free program that promotes early childhood literacy.
Our partners throughout the community represent the non-profit sector, educators, health providers, for-profit businesses, and city, county and state governments. Together we identify the challenges that our community is presented with every day; we coordinate problem-solving opportunities; and we collaborate on the activities that will produce the best results.
Our role in the community is to be a 'leader of change'; with your support, TOGETHER WE CAN MAKE IT HAPPEN!
