History

Since 1936 United Way of Superior-Douglas County, under different names and locations, has been serving the Douglas County community by providing resources to organizations to enable them to provide direct service to people at risk.

Although the names and faces on the board have changed over the years, the vision of our organization has not — to improve the quality of life for everyone. 

In most years the following groups have been targeted — youth, people with disabilities, individuals and families at risk, elderly, and the under or uninsured.

United Way supports organizations by providing a variety of resources including financial, promotional, information sharing, grant writing and product or equipment donations.

We support the community by our involvement in various collaborative efforts, serving on committees, volunteering, speaking and presenting to groups and mobilizing people to get involved.
